I am looking for some of our ancestors who lived for a while in Lochgilphead. They are McPhails and the family bounced back and forth from Mull to the mainland. The two I am interested in are John McPhail, and his sister Isobella. Family history has it that John was a policeman in Lochgilphead, possibly prior to 1881 when we find him as inn keeper at Ulva Ferry Inn. He was there when the Inn burned down. Isobella went with the family to Canada, and then came back. We don't know who she married. Can anyone provide info on these two?
