re: Carnussey Beg (?). There is a cluster of houses just north of Kilmartin called Carnasserie. The word beg is the Gaelic word for little. There is also a Carnasserie Castle nearby.

Lachlan McTavish was the son of Alexander McTavish and Margaret Leitch. He died September 26, 1873 at Castleton, Lochgilphead. Presently I am aware of children Elizabeth (Betty or Betsy), Alexander, Duncan and Lachlan. Lachlan, Jr. married Catherine Kirth and he died on 27 March 1898 at Castleton Lodge. Presently that is about all I know about the family but will likely be locating more before long. Take crae, Jim.
