Yes, Agnes and Ann are interchangeable. Out of interest, my Sarah McPhail, daughter of Duncan and Sarah McPhail married John Sinclair and their son Lachlan Sinclair married a Jane McGilp. I have a Peter McKellar who lived at Kirnon-mer Kilmichael. He was a shoemaker. His wife was Jean/Jane McArthur. This Peter was born 1771 at Carron his parents John McKellar and Mary McKellar. Peter died between the 1841 and 1851 census. His wife Jean/Jane died at Kirnon-mer in 1859 and is buried in the Kilmichael Burying Place. Do you think their might be a connection? Glenda
