Hi! My Munro's left Argyll, Scotland in 1818 on a ship named the Mars. Archie Mor Munro and his brother Neil Ban Munro landed in Port Glasgow, Ontario, Canada. They farm in Aldborough twp for 11 years before moving to Mosa twp. Kilmartin Ontario (Glencoe). Archie would marry Janet Smith. When their oldest son Malcolm was only 9 years old, Archie drowned in the Thames river, returning home with some new purchased cattle. Malcolm Munro took over the farm becoming one of Kilmartin's richest men. Malcolm married Margaret McLarty. They youngest son Neil was my Great Grandfather, and had the nickname of "Chicago Neil". Neil married Sarah Leitch. They had Malcolm, Archie, Leonard, Mary Ellen and Garfield. Archie married Zetta Cuthbert and moved to Windsor, Ontario, Canada. They had Donald, Keith, Murray, Donna. Murray was my dad. He died of ALS in 1967. My mother is Ellen McKee Munroe, and I am their youngest daughter. If you see any link with any of these names, or you want any further information for you family history research, please contact me at maplenation@bigfoot.com Thanks Marjorie Munroe London, Ontario, Canada

Hello Carol Just noticed your request for info re Maclachlans on internet. My ggggrandfather was one Archibald Maclachlan born Glassary 1771, married Margaret McNuier b c 1775 on 6 march 1796.They had at least one son, Lachlan born 21 January 1821 in Glassary. Their grave is in Kilmartin Churchyard. They , in common with many MacLachlans appear to have lived in a small community known as Achnayerran in the hills approx 3 miles NW of Kilmartin. Don't know how close this is to your line but would certainly be interested in hearing from you. Regards Bill McEwan Wishaw Scotland
